Dashboard Overview

Complete guide to the RosettaHub Federated Dashboard -- your single pane of glass for the Supercloud.

Overview

The Federated Dashboard is your central workspace for managing cloud resources across AWS, Azure, GCP, Alibaba Cloud, OVH, OCI, OpenStack, and VMware from a single interface. It unifies the RosettaCloud resource layer and the cloud operations governance layer (RosettaBox) into one cohesive experience.

The dashboard is built around two core concepts: perspectives (saved layouts of views) and views (the individual content panels within a perspective). Together, they let you customize your workspace for any workflow.

Dashboard Layout

The dashboard consists of four main areas:

Left Pane

The left pane has two modes:

Tab Behavior
Workspace Your personal default layout. Any changes you make here (opening views, rearranging, resizing) are automatically saved to your default layout. This is your day-to-day working area.
Perspective tabs Read-only previews of shared and public perspectives. Changes made while viewing a perspective tab are not saved -- they are for browsing only.

Below the Workspace tab, perspectives are organized into categories (folders):

  • DASHBOARDS -- overview and analytics perspectives
  • ADMIN -- user, organization, and registration management
  • GOVERNANCE -- compliance, policies, and cloud account oversight
  • WORKSPACE -- compute-focused development and research perspectives
  • COMPUTE -- machine, session, and formation management
  • STORAGE -- object, block, and file storage management
  • PROFILE -- account settings, portfolios, and social features
  • CONSOLE -- perspective and view management tools
  • MARKETPLACE -- discover and deploy shared formations, images, and portfolios

Expand a category to see its perspectives. Click a perspective to preview it (read-only). To adopt a perspective as your default layout, select it from the perspective dropdown in the toolbar.

Toolbar

The top toolbar provides global controls:

Control Description
Add View Add a new view to the current perspective
Show/Hide Filter Bar Toggle the artifact filter bar on all views
Show/Hide Details on Hover Toggle rich hover tooltips on artifacts
Save Layout Save the current view arrangement to the active perspective
Save Layout As Save the layout as a new perspective
Perspective Dropdown Select a perspective from allowedGoldenPerspectives -- this changes your default layout to the selected perspective
Cloud Provider Filter all views by cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP, Alibaba Cloud, OVH, OpenStack)
Cloud Account Filter by cloud account
Region Filter by region
Sign Out Log out of RosettaHub

Perspective dropdown vs. left pane

The perspective dropdown in the toolbar changes your default layout -- when you select a new perspective, it becomes your active workspace and is saved. The left pane perspective tabs are read-only previews that do not change your saved layout.

View Area

The main workspace where you interact with your views. Each view displays a specific type of resource or content.

Arranging views:

Action How To
Move Drag a view tab to reposition it
Split Drop a tab on an edge to split the area horizontally or vertically
Stack Drop a tab on the center of another view to create a tab group
Maximize Double-click a view tab to maximize it
Close Click the X on a view tab
Reset Layout Use toolbar to restore the default perspective layout

View tab options (right-click):

  • Close
  • Close Others
  • Close All
  • Rename
  • Pop Out

Status Bar

The bottom bar displays:

  • Connection status
  • Active operations
  • System health indicators

Switching Perspectives

To switch your active perspective:

  1. Click the perspective dropdown in the toolbar (shows the current perspective name)
  2. Type to search or scroll the list
  3. Select a perspective -- the dashboard reloads with the selected perspective's layout
  4. This becomes your new default layout

To browse perspectives without changing your default:

  1. Expand a category in the left pane
  2. Click a perspective name to preview it
  3. Your default layout is not changed

Every view includes built-in filter controls:

Visibility Filters

Filter Description
Private Show/hide artifacts you own
Shared Show/hide artifacts shared with you
Public Show/hide publicly available artifacts

Search Filter

Type in the search box to filter artifacts by any property, including label, description, type, owner, or cloud-specific attributes. Filtering is applied in real time.

Artifact Limit

Set a maximum number of artifacts displayed in each view to improve performance with large collections.

Global Cloud Filters

Use the toolbar's Cloud Provider, Cloud Account, and Region controls to filter all views simultaneously. This is useful for focusing on resources in a specific cloud or region.

View Modes

Views can display artifacts in different modes:

  • Card mode -- visual cards with icons and key properties
  • Table mode -- compact tabular view for working with many items

Toggle the view mode from the toolbar.

Context Menus

Right-click any artifact to access its context menu with available actions. The menu adapts based on:

  • Resource type -- each type has specific actions
  • Ownership -- private items have more actions than shared ones
  • Resource state -- running machines show Stop; stopped machines show Start
  • Your role -- administrators see additional management actions

See the Actions Reference for a complete list of all context menu actions.
